‘Textbook’ Supernova in Sagittarius from the Chandra X –Ray Observatory. 30 Jan 2007  (Courtesy Tomsastroblog.com)

The Chandra X-ray telescope took five hour exposures of Jupiter over three nights. The data from those exposures were combined and superimposed on a Hubble image, taken with the Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 in mid-February 2007.
